Visit our booth at Latin America & Caribbean Aquaculture 2023

Starting on April 18, Latin America & Caribbean Aquaculture (LACQUA23) is taking place in Panama City, Panama. LACQUA23 is a four-day B2B annual event organised by the World Aquaculture Society (WAS).

Following upon the previous successful LACQUA meetings, LACQUA23 will bring back international attention to the aquaculture industry of Panama and Latin America.

LACQUA23 will be held in Panama City, the capital of Panama. Panama is a cosmopolitan, dynamic city, where the modern and the traditional come together to create a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere. Panama, the hub of the Americas, makes a great venue for LACQUA23.

The aquaculture sector of Panama (fish and shrimp together) is one of the main export items of the country. The most cultivated species in Panama are fish (tilapia, cobia, pámpano) and shrimp.

CIEL to host UK aquaculture innovation roadshow

Innovation in aquaculture will be the central focus of a series of roadshows planned by CIEL (Centre for Innovation Excellence in Livestock) this spring and summer.

The events, which will take place across the UK between 20 April and 12 July, are designed to help shape CIEL’s ambition to accelerate science and innovation within the aquaculture sector.

CIEL’s aquaculture specialist, Martin Sutcliffe, says representatives from aquaculture businesses, government departments and academic institutions are all invited to attend the workshop sessions which will take place in each of the four UK nations.

“The workshops will be a chance to influence and accelerate innovation that will support sustainable growth and development of the industry,” says Mr Sutcliffe.

“CIEL wants to add value to the aquaculture sector and these events provide the perfect opportunity to develop tangible, deliverable actions, based on the insight gained through these aquaculture innovation workshops.”

Director of CIEL, Phil Bicknell, explains how the innovation workshops will help CIEL develop a strategic plan tailored to the specific needs of each nation.

Mr Bicknell says, “We want to ensure that any research activity we do within aquaculture either complements or adds something new to help drive the productivity, profitability, and resilience of the agrifood sector.

“Informed by the discussion and information gathered during the roadshows, dedicated resource within CIEL will drive the development of projects, with CIEL aiming to build on its strong track record of public funding support from organisations such as Innovate UK and BBSRC to accelerate innovation in the aquaculture sector,” he says.

Taiwan International Ocean and Fisheries Industry Show 2023 (TIOFIS 2023) Opens in Late of August, Reserve your Exhibiting Space Now!

The 9th Taiwan International Ocean and Fisheries Industry Show (TIOFIS), organized by MY Exhibition Co. Ltd., will be held on August 31^st to September 2^nd at Hall 1, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
