The Canadian and French governments have announced a joint study into the ability of algae to help cut greenhouse gas emissions. The two-year research project aims to determine how fast
macroalgae can grow and how effectively it can absorb greenhouse gases found in
typical smokestacks.
Aqua
Gen and Center for Integrative Genomics (CIGENE) will collaborate with Affymetrix on a salmon genotyping data. Aqua Gen has gathered more than 900,000 markers per sample from the Atlantic salmon (Salmo
salar) which can be used to make the world’s first high-density view of the marker patterns in the Atlantic salmon
