There will be
many workshops attached to World Aquaculture Adelaide, some are open to
everyone and some are specifically for invited people. Here we promote two
workshops which are open to all, one is new for Australia and the other is a
regular event. Both are high level and unlikely to be repeated in Adelaide.
The new one is
the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) Auditor Course. The course will be run by
Lisa Goché and Jeff Peterson from 1-7 June 2014 and will be based at the
Rockford Hotel in Adelaide. The Global Aquaculture Alliance invites new auditor
candidates, returning auditors requiring refresher training, producers,
government officials and other industry observers to attend a Best Aquaculture
Practices (BAP) Auditor Training Course in Adelaide, Australia, from June 1 to
7, 2014.
BAP is the
world’s major aquaculture certification organisation and with the growth in
certification comes the need for additional compliant auditors. The course will
cover the following BAP standards: Processing Plant, Finfish and Crustacean
Farm, Salmon Farm, Mussel Farm, Hatchery and Feed Mill. To register you need to
visit http://www.bestaquaculturepractices.org/ and
follow the instructions from there. For those staying on to WAA14 there is a 10
per cent discount so do not forget to ask how to apply for that.
Dr.Tom
Losordo, who has an incredible track record at Australian Aquaculture events
having assisted well over 2000 people relating to aquaculture recirculation, is
now working with Dr.Wilson Lennard and with the support of Pentair Ltd will be
delivering Recirculating Aquaculture Technology & Aquaponics Workshops
which will take place on 6 & 7 June at Adelaide Convention Centre.
To register
for these workshops then please go to go to http://www.aquaculture.org.au/images/downloads/WA14_RAS_WORKSHOP_WEB%20.pdf
.
The interest in Aquaponics in
Australia today is incredibly high so please do not be late with your
registration. Pentair are now establishing their business in Australia and with
the two experts in Tom and Wilson it promises to be an interesting workshop –
certainly there would be little that these people do not know on this subject.
