Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of Ministerial Committee for Services and Infrastructure, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, today highlighted Bahrain's government's support for the private sector to invest in aquaculture to achieve food security and to prevent overfishing.
In a field visit to Bahrain Fish Farm Company, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, accompanied by Minister of Finance, Minister of Municipalities and Urban Planning, Minister of Works and Minister of Housing, underscored facilitations provided by the government for investors in this field, in addition to providing suitable lands for the use as offices, warehouses and basins and appropriate marine location for floating cages.
He commended Bahrain Fish Farm Company as the first Bahraini company invests in private aquaculture to contributes to meet food security and support fish reserve by the use of modern alternative solutions to meet the growing demand throughout the year.
