Actions
for investment and financing opportunities together with the day to day
practicalities of running an offshore business
Offshore Mariculture Asia, to be held in Singapore, 15-17 May, has announced the launch of its 2018 programme. The conference will be opened by Conference chairman, Alessandro Lovatelli, Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Officer, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO); followed by Lukas Manomaitis, USSEC Aquaculture Program Technical Contractor and Southeast Asian Technical Director. Guillaume Drillet, President of the World Aquaculture Society Asian Pacific Chapter and Bjorn Myrseth, President, European Aquaculture Society who will deliver keynote addresses.
‘Netting the right offshore technology’ and ‘Zoning, licensing and security for offshore operations’, are just two of the topics on offer giving attendees detailed insight into moving from nearshore to offshore, production chain and how to choose the right investments, and an unprecedented insight into the industry.
Day two of the conference will focus on efficiency, covering everything from marketing of the product, to identifying and targeting species for investment. The conference will also look at how to secure financial support for offshore projects and joint venture approaches, including investment case studies with real life examples for delegates.
Delegates from Norway, Vietnam, The Philippines, Jamaica, Turkey and Mexico will be in attendance, providing international networking opportunities and the chance for local stakeholders interested in moving to cage quality finfish production to meet with international experts, equipment suppliers and investors. The final day of the conference will offer delegates a technical visit to an established functioning fish farm and hatchery, followed by a question and answer session with the farm managers.
Marianne Rasmussen-Coulling, Events Director, Mercator Media, organiser of the conference, added, “Our programme highlights the high calibre speakers and critical topics that will be covered at Offshore Mariculture Asia 2018. We look forward to welcoming all those attending between the 15-17 May 2018”.
