The intensification in the production of gilthead seabream in the Mediterranean region has increased the occurrence of disease outbreaks such as vibriosis.

A new peer-reviewed research by the Central Laboratory for Aquaculture Research (CLAR, Egypt) titled 'Effects of commercial feed additive (Sanacore® GM) on immune-antioxidant profile and resistance of gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) against Vibrio alginolyticus infection' has been published in Annals of Animal Science (DOI: 10.2478/aoas-2022-0053).
This study demonstrates that Sanacore® GM enhances:
- the fish antioxidant defenses
- ameliorates the inflammatory reaction
- sustains overall immunocompetence
Such benefits positively impact fish resistance against vibriosis and survival. This study once again hits towards the efficacy of Sanacore® GM to reinforce the health prevention strategy and reduce the severity of bacterial infections in marine fish.
