Scottish farmed salmon production has reached its highest output since 2003.
In 2012, the country produced 162,223 tonnes, an increase of 2.7 percent on the previous year.
The increased production is a £537 million boost for the Scottish economy.

Experts at a linkage event in Bangladesh have stressed the need for enhanced cultivation of mono-sex tilapia by adopting the improved farming management technology for boosting fish production in rural areas.
Some 105 male and female farmers of the area, tilapia and carp fish
farmers, owners of fish nurseries and hatcheries, fertiliser traders,
lead farmers, mega feed dealers, local public representatives, officials
and experts of the CSISA-BD team and elite attended.
