BioMarine 2013 has been an outstanding success, hosted in Halifax by Atlantic Canada in association with the Canadian Research Council and Novus Aquaculture who prides itself on Solutions, Service and Sustainability, the four day conference managed to focus on all the key areas that matter in the drive to improve sustainable and ecological aquaculture worldwide.
With over 300 senior delegates from around the world, it was a privilege to be part of a process that in bringing academia and industry together to focus on and solve the key issues facing our oceans and the ever growing global population and how we plan to sustainable feed everyone.

The list of attendees was a relative who's who of the Aquaculture industry, from Prince Albert II of Monaco, through to senior Portuguese, Canadian, Norwegian and American government officials and of course a plethora professors, doctors including our very own Simon Davies through to Dr Bryce Wylde, Canada’s leading TV doctor and personality who is pushing forward the benefits of eating fish and consuming more Omega 3.
BioMarine was also the launch pad for the Wendy Schmidt Ocean Health X Prize, this is a $2 million dollar prize purse to incentivize the development of accurate, robust, and affordable pH sensors that will profoundly improve our understanding of ocean acidification.
This is the very tip of the iceberg of what has come out of BioMarine 2013. As always International Aquafeed was there, attending and taking part in tall the key sessions involving aquafeed and aquaculture technology.
