Mr. Didier Arnaud, managing director of Jefo Nutrition Inc. and Mr. Philippe Serene, president of Nutrispices jointly inaugurated the meeting. Mr. Lesley Nernberg, Asian sales and technical support manager of Jefo conducted the technical session where Dr. Kabir Chowdhury, product manager – Aquaculture presented a paper on development of the protease for aquaculture.
He discussed 25 years of research and development work with the uniquely heat-stable protease before introducing it to the global aquafeed market. Mr. Herve-Lucien Brun, an international aquaculture expert, presented a paper on practical use and benefits of protease enzyme in aquaculture feeding program where he discussed some of the trials conducted in important aquaculture species and introduced two new protease matrices for shrimp-tilapia and pangasius feeds, respectively.
The well-attended meeting and live Q&A afterwards highlighted the growing interests of using protease enzyme in aquafeed to minimize the effects of volatility in quality and price of costly protein feedstuffs.
