Dr Farshad Shishehchian of Blue Aqua International, Thailand was confirmed as president-elect of WAS's Asia Pacific Chapter at the President's Reception on the penultimate evening of the Asia-Pacific Aquaculture 2013 event held in Saigon, Vietnam, last week.
This appointment promises to be popular as Dr Shishehchian is keen to bring about greater dialogue and exchange between scientists and industry, particularly in the area of applied science.
Roger Gilbert, the proprietor of International Aquafeed magazine, has offered the WAS Asia-Pacific Chapter a plaform within it pages and through The Aquaculturists blog to report on its progress in the leading aquaculture countries throughout the region.
