'Ahumoana o Aotearoa' or in English, 'Aquaculture for New Zealand', is the annual aquaculture conference for New Zealand which will be returning September 22-23, 2021 in Nelson, New Zealand. The conference will celebrate the aspirations of Aquaculture New Zealand as they look to grow our sustainable sector for the benefit of all New Zealanders.
Ahumoana o Aotearoa encompasses the values and desire to grow sustainably and ensure national prosperity. The conference theme looks to the future: a future of unity as we strive for the betterment of our people, our products, our industry, and our land and sea.
A future where we realise the Open Ocean Aquaculture opportunity, without compromising our values. A future where the inseparable bond between us and our environment is more important than ever, as we advance the land-based infrastructure (including hatcheries, nurseries, processing plants, feed mills) needed to support our thriving industry in the regions.
A future where the resilience of the industry is supported by world leading biosecurity practices.
A future where we continue to refine our processes and procedures with the aspiration of assisting New Zealand's transition to a low-emission economy.
An inclusive future where our rangitahi have the training they need and are proud to be a part of a sustainable industry. An industry filled with passion and a future that only continues to get brighter.
Ahumoana o Aotearoa is the feeling of togetherness we all share as we shape this industry to the forefront of the primary sector and the pride of New Zealand.
