WorldFish Center has collated its publications (December 2012 to March 2013) and published them online in one volume. Highlights include: Livelihood strategies of tiger shrimp post larvae collectors in backkhali river estuary, cox’s bazar of Bangladesh; Cage-pond integration of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) and Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) with carps; and Aquaculture and resilience: Women in aquaculture in Nepal.
Allegations of fish poisoning in Uganda have surfaced again. Hundreds of fish
species near the Tamper Landing Site in Entebbe were found dead in March 2013. The
Acting Fisheries Commissioner, Mr Jackson
Wadanya, said the fish had been killed by algae blooms. However, some
fishermen believe deliberate posioning is behind the deaths.
