The aquaculture facilities at Texas A&M has hit the big 4-0. The centre, based near College Station, is celebrating its 40th birthday with a recently completed pond complex renovation. The facilities are dedicated to research and teaching sound practices in warm-water aquaculture.
The use of aquaculture feeds in Bangladesh has grown substantially in
the past few years. This has helped intensify production and increase yields. However, there are still a number of issues concerning feed quality, management
and sustainability.
With this context in mind, WorldFish and USAID conducted the Feed the Future Aquaculture Project, which aimed to provide guidance and direction on
investments needed in the Bangladesh aquafeed industry.
Bornstein Seafoods, USA has donated $100,000 to Bellingham Technical College’s (BTC) Fisheries and Aquaculture
Sciences building campaign. In light of this contribution, the hatchery part of the building will be named The
Bornstein Hatchery.
