Professor Abdel-Fattah M El-Sayed will be speaking at the One Day Short Course in Aqua Feed in Abu Dhabi.
Prof El-Sayed received a BSc in oceanography and an MSc in fisheries biology from Alexandria University, Egypt and a PhD in aquaculture (fish nutrition) from Michigan State University, USA.
His CV is impressive, to say the least: The recipient of numerous academic honours and awards, he is a consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations, the Regional Organisation for Protecting the Marine Environment (ROPME) and the Arab Organisation for Agricultural Development. He is also a member of the editorial/advisory board of four journals and a reviewer for more than 20 others, both national and international.
Visiting professor to scientific institutions in Japan, Spain, Malaysia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman, Prof El-Sayed has authored and/or co-authored over 110 peer-reviewed papers in aquaculture and fisheries, in addition to 4 books.
Having taken part in more than 50 regional and international conferences on aquaculture and fisheries sciences (in 33 countries), he is also a participant in many local, regional and international aquaculture and fisheries projects.
Prof El-Sayed will be speaking on ‘Aquaculture in the Middle East: An overview’.
The One Day Short Course in Aqua Feed takes place on Sunday February 14, 2016 from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM GST at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
