29/07/2016: Dietary interventions vs Statins

https://issuu.com/international_aquafeed/docs/iaf1604_w1/9
By Ioannis Zabetakis

First published in International Aquafeed, July-August 2016

In 1952, the first informal explorative pilot studies on human diets took place in Italy, Japan, Spain and South Africa and those first data have been used in the experimental designing of the first phase (1958-1983) of the “Seven Countries Study” (SCS). The SCS suggested an association between serum cholesterol and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).

However, this association was not consistent across the various cohorts of participants in different countries. The link was very clear in US and Northern European cohorts but it was rather weak in Southern European and Japanese cohorts. Nevertheless, the SCS triggered research into cholesterol-lowering drug strategies, ultimately leading to the development of statins amongst others.

The clinical evidence in support of statins is strong but statins aim to lower serum LDL-cholesterol whereas the SCS has shown that people with high serum cholesterol do not necessarily face increased cardiovascular risk!

So, today, the vast majority of the medical community advocate (unfortunately!) these drugs as highly effective first-line therapeutics in primary and secondary prevention of CVDs without considering the human’s diet habits or blood data (i.e. if they follow the Mediterranean diet guidelines or what are the blood levels of HDL-cholesterol – the good cholesterol).

There is constantly growing evidence of side-effects associated with statins in a significant proportion of patients suggesting that these drugs are not a universal solution to CVDs! We need, therefore, to revisit the evidence and to re-appraise the relative importance of cholesterol amongst many other lipids as potential modulators of atherogenesis. Do all people need statins or actually statins make things worse?

What are the relative merits of statin therapy?
How can dietary interventions that impact on lipids other than cholesterol, including omega-3 fatty acids and polar lipid fractions of various foods (e.g. fish), help in our attempt to decrease cardiovascular risk?

We suggest that careful design around the lipid components of dietary interventions presents a credible alternative in patients who are intolerant to statins or averse to taking such drugs.

27/07/2016: Largest event delivers for AWF in Indonesia

https://issuu.com/international_aquafeed/docs/iaf1604_w1/6
By Roy Palmer

First published in International Aquafeed, July-August 2016

There have only been two WAS events in Indonesia; the first was just after AwF had started in 2005 in Bali, and the second was the Asia Pacific Aquaculture (APA) 2016 in Surabaya at the end of April.

The people flocked to Surabaya where they provided 240 exhibition booths and eleven rooms of conference over three crammed but exciting days at Grand City complex in the centre of the large city. The numbers may well have expected to be down a little on usual because of the clash with the Seafood Expo Global in Brussels but, primarily due to the local Indonesian support, WAS saw record numbers exceeding 5,500 people attend.

Indonesia, of course has a rapidly expanding aquaculture industry – nearly 20 percent increase in the last five years in hectares in aquaculture production and over 50 percent per year increase in tons produced every year for the last 10 years. For those visiting from EU, USA, Australia, etc it was important to see the government and industry partnership, which is obviously needed to maximise aquaculture outcomes.

You need a formula of a government
In order for a country to achieve what Indonesia has over these passed years you need a formula of a government that sets the governance, infrastructure and incentives to engage people in aquaculture coupled with industry groups that grasp the opportunities and in the background you need active service industries that supply education, equipment, feed and all the other ingredients. You can see in Indonesia that this is happening.

27/07/2016: EuroTier 2016 expects 2500 exhibitors from more than 50 countries

http://www.eurotier.com/
Hanover (Image: blue_quartz)
Some 2400 exhibitors have already signed up to participate at EuroTier 2016, which takes place later this year in Hanover, Germany.

More than 1300 of these companies are coming from some 54 countries to exhibit at the event, which takes place from 15th to 18th November.

EuroTier organiser DLG is expecting the final exhibitor number to reach 2500 by the time the exhibition gets underway in four months. The top international exhibitors that will be showcasing their innovations for the livestock sector at the event are the Netherlands with 230 companies, followed by China (170), France (150), Italy (130) and Turkey (60).

"The number of registrations already underlines EuroTier’s position as the world's leading exhibition for agricultural animal production," said EuroTier Project Manager Dr Karl Schlösser.

“The exceptionally high exhibitor interest from abroad already represents an increase of about one-third compared to 2014, which is a clear sign of the growing importance of the EuroTier as a hub for the international markets.”

Aquaculture at EuroTier 2016
Aquaculture is an international growth market and an integral part of EuroTier 2016. Leading companies – including suppliers of modern fish farm technology related to husbandry, feeding and feed, networks and innovative water treatment systems, have already registered, and will present their latest developments in Hanover.

For the first time, an AQUAculture InfoCentre can be found at the fair. With the title "Growth in the water instead of on the surface", it offers advice and a special area for living exhibits: fish, seaweed, shrimp, shellfish. Practical lectures, discussions and an extensive consultation area will complement the wide range of exhibitors.

http://www.eurotier.com/
Every aspect of livestock production is covered
With its comprehensive offering of products and services for animal production across all species, EuroTier is a key meeting place for livestock farmers wanting to learn what current solutions are available, as well as what will be coming in the future.

The range of products and services on display at EuroTier this year will be larger than previous editions of the fair, especially in the cross-species sectors such as feedstuffs, equipment for milling, mixing and pelleting of feed, and animal health, but there will also be air conditioning equipment being shown this November.

Bioenergy developments will be showcased
EuroTier 2016 will also feature EnergyDecentral, which will showcase a broad range of technological developments in the areas of bioenergy, renewable energy and the technology and concepts surrounding decentralised energy. Located in dedicated exhibition halls at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds, this specialist section has excellent synergy with the agricultural livestock technologies featured at the fair.

EnergyDecentral project manager Marcus Vagt says that more than 300 companies have already booked stands to appear at this international trade fair for innovative energy supply. Biogas, cogeneration, energy from straw and wood, and wind power are among the largest product groups to be featured, while the decentralised energy section will include intelligent networking, energy storage and contracting.

EnergyDecentral also gets a special feature for 2016 where the topic is "CHP – Maintenance and Service". This will shows clearly what is required for maintaining and optimising highly complex Combined Heat and Power systems.
In addition, the German Biogas Association will hold its new BIOGAS Convention on the EuroTier site for the first time during this November’s exhibition.

Worldwide Innovation Showcase
EuroTier is recognised as a global innovation showcase for technical machinery and equipment for professional animal husbandry. Numerous exhibitors will time their innovation launches to coincide with EuroTier in Hanover, where they will be able to display their new products to the international markets. DLG’s neutral and international commission of experts will once again be judging entries for the EuroTier innovations awards. Selected according to strict criteria, the best products will be awarded DLG’s highly prized gold and silver medals.

bpt Congress again coincides with EuroTier
The German Federation of Veterinary Practitioners (bpt) is holding its annual congress and associated exhibition "Veterinary Medicine" to coincide with EuroTier 2016. Jointly organised by the DLG and bpt, the "International Animal Health Event" will also take place. This will serve veterinarians primarily in Germany but international veterinarians may take advantage too.

Future forum on professional animal husbandry
EuroTier provides the world’s leading forum looking at the future of professional animal husbandry. Here, technology trends related to modern animal husbandry and animal breeding are traditionally identified and fully explored.

Together with partners from industry, academia, consultancy, associations and organisations, the DLG will once again present an extensive technical program to complement the offerings of the exhibitors. This will include international conferences and events on current trends and important developments in the industry.

Campus & Career
With the Campus & Career section at EuroTier 2016, DLG offers a platform for professionals looking for a career in science and research. Taking place in Hall 26, this section provides the opportunity to get in touch with companies looking for staff to inform themselves, as well as finding out about possible teaching, study or training opportunities, or even the latest developments in research.

Multilingual information on the Internet
The DLG has made a wide range of information about EuroTier 2016 available on the internet in German, English and several other languages. The EuroTier website is constantly updated and includes information about exhibitors, the innovations at the fair and about the technical program. International visitors can also find the DLG-Travel Service, which has contacts in nearly 50 countries.

27/07/2016: Scotland’s first Thermolicer will deliver sustainable solution for salmon farms

Scottish Sea Farms has invested over UK£4 million in purchasing Scotland’s first innovative Thermolicer machine.

This is part of Scottish Sea Farms’ ongoing initiative to deliver a natural solution to control sea lice.

The Thermolicer arrived in Scotland last week and trials are currently underway in Shetland.  Scottish Sea Farms (SSF) will cooperate with other farmers in Scotland sharing the use and knowledge of using the Thermolicer with them. There is a clear aspiration to reduce the need for medicinal treatments in the fight against the naturally occurring parasite and SSF continue to make investments to achieve this.

http://www.scottishseafarms.com/

Ralph Bickerdike, Scottish Sea Farms Head of Fish Health, commented: “Sea lice is a challenge for all fish farmers in most salmon producing areas.  At Scottish Sea Farms we intend being part of the solution to this challenge.  Our work with SAIC and other industry partners in this area has already reaped huge benefits through our work with wrasse and lumpfish – varieties of cleaner fish.

“The Thermolicer is the latest step in developing alternative tools to maintain a sustainable solution to fish health management.”

Heather Jones, CEO of SAIC said: “We are delighted to see this level of innovation and collaboration happening in Scotland. The industry is tackling the biological issues it faces with energy and initiative, and with a strong commitment to sustainable practices. Scottish Sea Farms is leading the way, allowing the learning from deploying this new equipment being trialled to be shared with other operators in Shetland.”

Scott Landsburgh, chief executive of Scottish Salmon Producers’ Organisation said: “Scotland’s salmon farmers have always been at the forefront of new inventions creating technological solutions as needs have evolved. Collaboration and sharing knowledge and skills have been paramount in enhancing fish welfare. It also reinforces our commitment to environmental and industry sustainability - crucial in driving our industry forward. We look forward to hearing the results and seeing how it can integrate with established health management strategies to the benefit of the whole industry.”

The Thermolicer is a machine that uses zero chemicals in the treatment of sea lice.  The lice have a low tolerance for changes in temperature and the new machine uses this fact to use water temperatures to eradicate the parasite.  It is a simple and environmentally friendly method that goes beyond the traditional treatments.

This is the first Thermolicer to be used in Scotland and is part of Scottish Sea Farms’ continued investment in its infrastructure and development.

26/07/2016: Borussia Dortmund and Evonik: An international success story

http://corporate.evonik.com/en/Pages/default.aspx
Image: Peter F.
Borussia Dortmund and Evonik Industries are now bringing their international success story to China. There, BVB will play the International Champions Cup in Shanghai and Shenzhen against Manchester United and Manchester City.

The management of Borussia Dortmund has specifically chosen China as the first big stage for the team of the 2016-17 season. After all, Asia is at the core of this major international club's growth strategy. After a year's break, Dortmund will once again take part in the UEFA Champions League.

Just last year, the BVB summer tour took place in Singapore and Malaysia and it was obvious just how well known the Borussia Dortmund brand and its stars such as Marco Reus and Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang are in Asia. And another factor was plain to see: The enthusiasm of the local fans when BVB comes to town and takes to the pitch.

These very emotions are one of the main reasons for Evonik's commitment to BVB.

“We are a perfect match: Thanks to the emotions involved with supporting BVB, Evonik can touch people who would otherwise be out of reach for a specialty chemicals corporation. And Borussia Dortmund benefits from the creativity with which we support the club worldwide,” says Klaus Engel, chairman of the Executive Board of Evonik Industries.

“As a globally active specialty chemicals corporation, our involvement with BVB helps Evonik to promote its own brand on a global scale. This enables us to reach important target groups such as customers, skilled professionals or capital investors in many countries through our BVB connection. And that's why we’re supporting the Borussia Dortmund tour to China this summer.”

First BVB Evonik soccer school activity in China
Chinese soccer is expected to edge its way into the world leading teams by 2050. According to the pragmatic Government Development Plan for Chinese Soccer, soccer’s development will be accelerated in schools. The number of schools with a specialty in soccer will reach 20,000 by 2020.

Borussia Dortmund and Evonik has paid attention to the youth soccer training for a long time. In 2011, the BVB Evonik soccer school was opened to offer soccer enthusiasts a professional training.

On the occasion of the International Champions Cup China, the BVB Evonik soccer school will be held for the first time in China. Both Borussia Dortmund and Evonik hope the Soccer School activity can contribute to the successful development of Chinese soccer.

At this football school - under the guidance of expert German football coaches - Chinese kids and youngsters will learn according to the most modern training methods. They will learn the theory and practice of the sport, but above all they will enjoy the game and the camaraderie of the group. Children of Evonik employees will take part as will children from six local schools as part of a summer camp.

Strong brand coupling

The connection between BVB and Evonik Industries goes back to the year 2006. At that time, Borussia Dortmund was in the middle of an economic and sporting restructuring phase. The Evonik management concluded its first sponsoring contract with BVB to help establish the new company brand. The initial goals were focused on increasing the brand awareness for the new company at a national level in Germany. Since then, this sponsoring venture has developed into a long-term and very successful partnership.

Mr Engel says: “With our long-term cooperation, both partners have laid a solid foundation for new business and sporting successes on the international stage. As a result of its cooperation with Evonik, Borussia has secured a solid basis for peak sporting performance in national and international competitions for many years to come.”

Since 2014, Evonik has also had a stake in Borussia Dortmund KGaA. The sponsoring contract runs until 2025.

26/07/2016: Roto-Flate® valve now designed to close and inflate in all failure modes

http://www.rotodisc.com/

Roto-Disc® Inc has completed design of an Inflatable Seal Mechanical Interlock system for the Roto-Flate® spherical valve that enhances its reliability and causes it to fail closed and inflated in the case of electric or pneumatic loss. The Mechanical Interlock prevents the inflatable seal from inflating before the valve dome is in the closed position.

When utilised with a spring return pneumatic actuator and normally open seal solenoid, the Roto-Flate® now closes AND inflates upon electrical power loss, regardless of the position of the valve at the time power is lost. The interlock also prevents un-intended and/or premature inflation of the inflatable seal, thereby decreasing risk of damage during start-up.

For applications where the valve is required to also close on pneumatic loss, the Roto-Flate® can be provided with a valve arrangement that will inflate the seal from a reserve air-source, and keep it inflated for extended periods. Applications that require a fail-open or fail-last disposition can also be easily accommodated upon request.

These enhancements allow users of the Roto-Flate® to gain the benefits of its 2-stage sealing system while being assured of a known action in the event of electric of pneumatic loss.

Liptosa company profile

http://www.liptosa.com/LípidosToledo SA began in 1996 as a family business and under the guidance of a group of professionals with extensive experience in the Animal Nutrition field.

From the outset, the company's mission has been to provide its clients with personalised service and efficient, natural products that are able to meet the demands of the sector.

In 2000 Lípidos Toledo SA moved its facilities, building a modern manufacturing plant in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo, Spain). In 2012 it acquired a new industrial warehouse in the vicinity of the main facilities where the manufacturing of the powder additives takes place and a third storage warehouse.

With these new facilities Lípidos Toledo SA is able to have separate manufacturing lines for the different products they manufacture, avoiding the risk of cross contamination.

Furthermore, the new facilities enable the company to manufacture products with fishmeal derivatives, allowing the company further expansion, mainly in the aquaculture range.

The facilities allow the manufacture of nutritional products, liquid and powder based phytobiotic additives, nutraceutical products and nutritional and specialty products without any risk of the products becoming cross contaminated.

In 2010, Lípidos Toledo SA acquired a large office space at C/ San Romualdo 12-14 in Madrid, Spain where all logistics work is carried out. This enables Lípidos Toledo SA to fulfil its objective of manufacturing products of the highest quality and providing its clients the best service.

25/07/2016: Current brine shrimp egg harvesting practices could lead to economic and environmental concerns

http://phys.org/news/2016-07-current-brine-shrimp-egg-harvesting.html
Great Salt Lake, Utah (Image: Erin Pettigrew)
Brine shrimp are the half-inch-long crustacean colloquially known as sea monkeys and are one of the few organisms that can survive in Utah's Great Salt Lake (GSL), Brandi Klingerman writes for Phys.org.

More than a low-maintenance pet, brine shrimp produce eggs, or cysts, that can be dormant, shipped around the world, hatched, and used as nutritious fish food in aquaculture. That seafood is then likely to end up at your local grocery store or favourite restaurant. Each year the GSL supplies up to 45 percent of the world's brine shrimp cyst needs and to collect them, harvesters skim the floating cysts off the top of the lake while sinking cysts remain.

New research completed at the University of Notre Dame's Environmental Research Centre (UNDERC) – West indicates that as sinking brine shrimp cysts remain while many floating cysts are removed, the brine shrimp population is shifting to contain more sinking cysts.

The winning projects particularly fit in with the objective of the fund– to deliver critical scientific research that address information, technology and management gaps and barriers that fisheries encounter in achieving the MSC Standard.”

For many small scale and developing world fisheries, achieving the high standard required for MSC certification can be a significant challenge.

Recognising this challenge, two years ago (in March 2014), the MSC Board proposed the need for an official fund to support critical fisheries science and to assist small scale/ developing world fisheries. The Global Fisheries Sustainability Fund (GFSF) was launched in July 2015 with an initial UK£400,000, split over two years.

Momo Kochen Director of Programs and Science at Masyarakat Dan Perikanan Indonesia Foundation said: “Indonesia is one of the leading producers of wild capture fish in the world. We are passionate about sustainable fishing because we know that many people depend on it for their livelihoods. This money will make a real difference in assessing the risks associated with tuna supply chains in this country.”

Alasdair Harris, Executive Director of Blue ventures said: “I am delighted to receive this funding from the MSC. We’ve been working with the MSC to implement a Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) in Madagascar. We hope this grant goes a long way to build the octopus fishery’s capacity to enter the MSC program.”

Geoffrey Muldoon, Senior Manager with WWF’s Coral Triangle Program said: “WWF in the Coral Triangle is committed to working with the MSC to make the program more accessible to fisheries in the developing world. With this funding from the MSC, we are excited to be able to build in-country expertise to deliver cost-effective and robustly designed fishery improvement projects to achieve that goal.”

About the recipients
WWF Coral Triangle Program will use its grant for a capacity building programme to train in-country experts so they can carry out FIP assessments and MSC pre-assessments in Vietnam and Indonesia.

Masyarakat Dan Perikanan Indonesia Foundation will prepare a risk assessment of tuna supply chains in Indonesia which will provide much-needed information on supply chain structure in that region.

WWF Guianas will apply data limited assessment and management methodologies to the Suriname coastal artisanal fishery, and will contribute to the MSC’s wider initiative that will allow data limited fisheries to demonstrate that their sustainability meets the MSC requirements.

The Anchud mudcrab fishery will use its grant to understand the likely barriers to certification of this developing world artisanal fishery, in a region which has many such fisheries.

WWF Japan will implement a FIP of enhanced Manila clam fishery in the Yellow Sea Ecoregion, which could lead to major environmental benefits in the globally important mudflats as well as sustainable Manila clam production and consumption.

Blue Ventures will implement FIP improvement activities in the Madagascar octopus fishery, and explore application of data limited assessment and management methods to these types of fisheries.

Applications for 2017/18 will be announced later this year (2016). The fund is open to academic institutions, independent researchers, fisheries, governments and non-governmental organisations. The MSC would like to encourage contributions from other organisations to enhance the overall scale and reach of the fund.

Their strong in-house research and development, and global cooperation with leading institutions and organisations form the basis by which innovative solutions are developed for their customers. Through joint projects with renowned universities and research institutes, BIOMIN is constantly in touch with the latest scientific know-how, from which novel feed additives are developed and produced. Their global network of collaborating institutions has grown to over 100.

One of the cornerstones of BIOMIN’s success is the ongoing improvement of their inhouse quality standards. In 1997, BIOMIN introduced the international ISO 9001 standard. The HACCP system, introduced subsequently at BIOMIN’s production sites, provides the quality assurance our customers seek from them. In addition, the feed quality standards QS and GMP+ guarantee the utmost degree of control and quality for their products – from raw material inputs right through to the final product.

Concerns over climate change and the role of greenhouse gases continue to rise. In September 2011, BIOMIN was internationally recognised through the award of ISO 14040 ‘Life Cycle Assessment’ certification. By optimizing feed use and improving animal performance, it is possible to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from livestock operations.

Through innovative production technologies and advanced, scientific know-how, BIOMIN has pioneered several trend-setting solutions for a range of animal nutrition products, all of which utilise fully natural processes and ingredients. An in-depth understanding of what the customer’s needs and concerns are has enabled BIOMIN to create and deliver solutions in-line with performance and efficiency goals.

22/07/2016: Seafood consumers put sustainability before price and brand

Independent global research reveals the importance of sustainability when buying fish and seafood, the Marine Stewardship Council reports

New independent research has found that sustainability is a key driver for seafood purchase. Across 21 countries overall, sustainability is rated more highly than price and brand, with nearly three-quarters (72%) of seafood consumers agreeing that in order to save the oceans, shoppers should only consume seafood from sustainable sources.

This is in contrast to purchasing motivations among shoppers of other fast-moving consumer goods (FMCGs), where price and brand typically outrank sustainability in driving purchase decisions*.

The consumer perceptions survey is the largest ever global analysis of attitudes to seafood consumption and was carried by independent research and insights company GlobeScan, on behalf of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

Over 16,000 seafood consumers in 21 countries took part in the research, which ensured a statistically representative sample in each country.

Sustainability influences actions of consumers of all ages
With over four in five (85%) households purchasing seafood regularly, concern about ocean sustainability is influencing shoppers’ actions. 68 percent said people should be prepared to switch to more sustainable seafood.

Older consumers demonstrate a greater concern for sustainability. 75 percent of seafood consumers aged 55 and over agreed with the need to eat seafood only from sustainable sources, compared with 67 percent of 18 to 34 year olds.

“These insights demonstrate that seafood consumers are attuned to the need for sustainability and that they are prepared to change shopping habits to protect the oceans. Citizens feel empowered to vote for sustainability with their wallets.” says MSC CEO, Rupert Howes.

Independent labelling increases brand trust
More than two-thirds (68%) of those surveyed said there is a need for brands and supermarkets to independently verify their claims about sustainability, with 62 percent agreeing that by buying ecolabelled seafood they are helping to ensure plenty more fish for future generations. The same number (62%) agreed that ecolabels on seafood products raise their trust and confidence in the brand.

While 10 percent of the world’s wild caught seafood comes from MSC-certified fisheries, 37 percent of all consumers said that they have seen the MSC ecolabel. Awareness varies across the 21 markets surveyed, from 13 percent in Canada up to 71 percent in Switzerland. Respondents aged 18 to 34 are more likely to recall seeing the MSC label (41%) compared to older respondents (30% of those 55+). Of those who have seen the blue MSC label more than six in ten (64%) are likely to recommend it to people they know.

https://www.msc.org/newsroom/news/seafood-consumers-put-sustainability-before-price-and-brand?fromsearch=1&isnewssearch=1

More than half (54%) of seafood consumers said they are prepared to pay more for a certified sustainable seafood product. Those who have seen the MSC label place the value of the MSC label at an average premium of 11 percent globally.
Positive perceptions of the MSC

When asked which institutions they believed were contributing the most to protecting the oceans, respondents ranked NGOs (41%) and scientific organisations (36%) highest, with governments and business ranked as least effective.

These results are consistent with consumers’ perception of the MSC, where 86 percent of consumers who have seen the label say they trust it and are positive about the organisation’s impact.

As the world’s most recognised seafood ecolabelling and certification program, consumers are positive that the MSC, and the fishers, retailers and brands committed to MSC certified seafood, are contributing to the health of the world’s oceans. More than eight in ten (81%) of those who have seen the label say that the MSC helps recognise and reward sustainable fishing. The same proportion (81%) say the MSC encourages people to shop more sustainably.

Empowering consumers to make positive choices
“Collaboration between scientists, NGOs, retailers and industry is delivering positive impacts on the water, but unsustainable fishing is still a significant challenge. Consumers who recognise the blue MSC label, trust it. However there’s still more we can do to deliver on demand for sustainable seafood, and empower shoppers to make positive choices. The MSC is therefore increasingly focused on working with our partners and the wider industry to raise awareness of the blue MSC label” Mr Howes added.

Caroline Holme, Director at GlobeScan said: “This survey gives us a detailed insight into just how different the seafood category is compared to others. In a category with relatively few trusted brands, third party claims on sustainability and traceability can help consumers navigate their choices better. Ocean sustainability is proven to be a topic with real relevance in this category and consumers prioritise it more than we suspected in their seafood purchase decisions.”

These figures support findings of the 2015 Nielsen Global Corporate Sustainability Report which showed that, over the previous year, sales of consumer goods from brands with a demonstrated commitment to sustainability grew by more than 4 percent globally, while those without grew less than 1 percent**.

* Neilsen research shows that brand is a key purchase driver

**Consumer goods brands that demonstrate commitment to sustainability outperform those that don't
