With less than a month left for 6th AlgaeWorld ASIA, it's time to register and join the world algae community in Bangkok on October 28-29, 2013.
This year, the premier algae event is proud to bring some of the pioneering works of well-known researchers in the global algae community to enlighten you on the major breakthroughs in bioplastics, marine bioenergy and more.
This year, the premier algae event is proud to bring some of the pioneering works of well-known researchers in the global algae community to enlighten you on the major breakthroughs in bioplastics, marine bioenergy and more.
Get first-hand accounts on projects from:
· Japan - Dr Motonari Shibakami, senior researcher from National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) speaks on the 'Development of algae-based bioplastics; transformation from low-cost algae to high-value added thermoplastic materials'. Seize this opportunity to evaluate how the Japanese scientist has derived bioplastics from constituents extracted from Euglena, a species of microalgae. Update yourself on this new bioplastics which is not only environment-friendly but also heat resistant and possesses high thermal plasticity as compared to conventional bioplastics and petroleum-based plastics.
· Korea - get an update on the country's 5th year in pursuing the marine bioenergy project and the novel technology for large-scale microalgal cultures in ocean - which will be the only ocean test-bed in the world. Prof Dr Choul-Gyun Lee, professor, Department of Biotechnology/ Director, Marine Bioenergy (MBE) Research Center, INHA University, an expert in marine bioenergy research, shares his research findings and enlightens you on the benefits of using oceans for mass culture of microalgae to produce biofuels.
· Singapore - find out from Dr Mahabubur Rahman Talukder and his team from A*Star research on converting lipid-depleted biomass into valuable chemical feedstock. Dr Talukder will also share what A*Star is doing with regards to microalgae research in the organisation.
Above are just few to mention. View the complete program agenda now.
Do not miss this opportunity to meet and greet your peers from the industry and forge long term partnerships.
