World Aquaculture 2020 to take place in Singapore

World Aquaculture 2020 to be held in Singapore for the first time The World Aquaculture 2020 (WA2020) will be held in Singapore for the first time from 8 – 12 June 2020.

The event is organised by the World Aquaculture Society together with the local institutional support from the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), Singapore Tourism Board and academic institutions in Singapore.

Having enough food to feed the world is increasingly becoming a global challenge and concern as demand is expected to outstrip supply in future. Hence, the tagline for WA2020 "Next Generation Aquaculture – Innovation and Sustainability will feed the World" is suitably apt. At the WA2020, delegates from all over world will have the opportunity to participate in carefully curated workshops, site visits and even discover the latest products and services available in the aquaculture industry.

Singapore also offers participants excellent tourism opportunities. A gateway to Asia and beyond, Singapore is a cosmopolitan city and a melting pot of different cultures. Singapore is home to a vibrant arts and entertainment scene, and also offers lively shopping, dining, attractions and nightlife options. Singapore is also well known as a Garden City with world-class attractions and skyscrapers set amidst lush greenery.

The 150-year-old Singapore Botanic Gardens – Singapore's first UNESCO World Heritage Site - is located a mere five minutes away from the Orchard Road shopping district. WA2020 will be held at the Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre, the largest purpose-built MICE venue in the country which is also one of the region's most sought after event destinations. Situated at the doorstep of the Changi Business Park, Singapore EXPO is a short 15- minute drive from the Central Business District and is also serviced by a dedicated MRT station that will connect visitors to the airport and the rest of the island state.

Information on how to participate as an assistant, commercial exhibitor and sponsor can be found on the World Aquaculculture society website, HERE.
