Aqua Nor 2019 presents special forum for research and innovation

If you are interested in research and innovation for the aquaculture industry, Research Plaza is the place to visit at the Aqua Nor aquaculture exhibition in Trondheim in August.

The Research Plaza is organised for the second time and brings together the research, innovation and teaching environments that are exhibitors at Aqua Nor 2019. Based on the positive experiences with the Research Plaza at Nor-Fishing 2018, where seven institutions collaborated, 14 institutions participate this year. The Research Plaza at Aqua Nor 2019 will thus cover 370 square meters and be very visible in the brand-new exhibition hall at Trondheim Spektrum.

The official opening of the Research Plaza will take place on Tuesday 21 August as an introduction to a series of short academic seminars. Through seven mini-seminars, researchers and companies will highlight relevant topics with new, research-based knowledge from different environments and perspectives. The seminars will present the latest results from research and innovation projects on issues such as salmon lice, new technology, fish health, feed resources, market and social issues, environmental challenges and new opportunities from the sea.

In connection with the Student Day, which is arranged on the last day of the exhibition, there will be a separate student event at Research Plaza.

A meeting place to discuss R&D issues
The Research Plaza will be a meeting place for discussions on research and innovation, both in connection with the announced mini-seminars, and in smaller, more informal meetings in the Plaza or with the individual exhibitors. Everyone who is interested in research and innovation, including university education in aquaculture, should know that Research Plaza is the place to seek out these days in August. Here, the expertise of aquaculture research and innovation from A to Z comes together. Whether you have questions about the status of research, specific projects or tips on collaboration, funding and advice on writing project applications, or if you are interested in educational opportunities information: come to Research Plaza!

Research Plaza - Research and innovation brings together all R&D institutions among the Aqua Nor exhibitors. This year that includes the Institute of Marine Research, Nofima, the Norwegian Veterinary Institute, Akvaplan-niva, NINA (Norwegian Institute for Nature Research), NORCE, SINTEF Ocean / NTNU, UiT - The Arctic University of Norway, Nord University, NMBU (Norwegian University of Life Sciences, FHF (Fisheries and aquaculture industry research funding), Innovation Norway and the Research Council of Norway.
