Vaki awarded runner-up Innovation Award for Aqua Nor 2021

After being shortlisted as one of three finalists in June, VAKI has been recognised at the prestigious Aqua Nor 2021 event.

Open to companies and individuals from all over the world, VAKI, which is an aquaculture portfolio of digital products within MSD Animal Health, a division of Merck & Co., Inc., Kenilworth, N.J., USA, was selected for the award due to its latest innovation, the SmartFlow system with density control.

'We have invested a significant amount of research into this mechanism, which monitors, controls and automates fish density to maximise fish welfare and enhance grading, vaccination and counting,' says Gareth Hammond, VAKI Area Manager at MSD Animal Health UK.

'Being shortlisted comes at a time when VAKI is moving from strength to strength to further develop our innovative equipment and technology, to aid data collection, analysis, and fish health throughout each stage of production.'

The 21 entrants from 12 nations had to demonstrate how their innovations would benefit the environment, fish health, or lead to economical gain. This nomination reaffirms VAKI's SmartFlow system with density control as being one of the most innovative products in the industry.
