GLOBALG.A.P. Certificates.
Friend
of the Sea – FOS – and GLOBALG.A.P. announce a collaboration that offers
consumer labeling for more than two million tons of aquaculture products.
GLOBALG.A.P.
certified aquaculture farms will only need to be assessed against a few
additional sustainability criteria to become eligible to use the international
consumer sustainability FOS label for aquaculture. This recognition reduces
duplication of farm audits considerably. In return, FOS certified farms will be
able to add the GLOBALG.A.P. audit with the next annual re-certification audit.
Consumers will
be able to recognize seafood products covered by the collaboration as they
carry the FOS label with the claim: “Responsibly farmed” and the GLOBALG.A.P.
farm number: “GGN 1234567891092”.
