The Latin American event of the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) in 2023 will be held in Panama City, Panama, from April 18 to 21 at the Hotel Riu Plaza with the support of Promtur Panama and the Water Resources Authority Aquatics of Panama – ARAP.
The World Aquaculture Society is an International Organization made up of members from more than 100 countries whose purpose is to promote the development and advancement of aquaculture education, science, and technology, in addition to collecting and disseminating information on aquaculture throughout the world.
Latin American and Caribbean Aquaculture 2023 (LACQUA23) is an annual conference recognised at the Latin American level as the most relevant for the exchange of knowledge, technology, innovation, and the formation of professional networks. During LACQUA23 there will be the participation of ASPAC, the Panamanian Association of Aquaculturists, as well as the accompaniment of the Ministry of Agricultural Development of Panama.
We extend the invitation for other international and national organizations to participate in this event, as well as private companies to participate in the trade fair, announcing that the stand sale is now open. You can write to carolina@was.org to select your commercial stand. The trade fair will have a space of more than 80 stands for the display and offer of products and services, in which companies from Latin America, the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia will participate, which expects the visit of more than two thousand participants
There will be multiple presentations, work meetings, a commercial exhibition, a poster gallery, technical visits to farms, and several spaces dedicated to the exchange of ideas and experiences among aquaculture professionals from all over the region.
During LACQUA23 there will be academic and technical sessions on topics such as aquaculture health, nutrition and food, genetics, production systems, innovation and sessions focused on the cultivation of species such as shrimp, tilapia, and marine fish; distributed over three full days in sessions both in the morning and in the afternoon. Each session has expert moderators in each of the topics. Abstract submission is now open and will have a deadline of January 31, 2023.
