- Aquaponics had been generating a bit of a buzz of late with a number of high profile projects attracting mainstream media press coverage. The latest venture to catch the attention of the UK national press (the BBC to be precise) is a 'fish allotment' scheme in which is being trialled in Bristol. Today, we are, metaphorically speaking, back in Scotland but this time with some more consumer-pleasing news: Scottish farmed salmon hits at seven-year high. The total production of Atlantic salmon increased by 2.5% in 2011 to 158,018 tonnes, according to Scottish government figures. Read more...
