11/01/2016: You can be the Winner! The Nor-Fishing Foundation Innovation Award 2016

Award for development and innovation in Norwegian and international fisheries

The Nor-Fishing Foundation has since 2003 presented an Innovation Award at both The Nor-Fishing and Aqua Nor exhibitions. That tradition will continue at Nor-Fishing 2016. Chairman of the board of The Nor-Fishing Foundation, Mrs Liv Holmefjord encourages everybody involved in development projects to submit their application. It is a requirement that your innovation project started after the last Nor-Fishing exhibition in 2014 and as such is not only an idea. Deadline for applications is 1 May 2016.

Managing Director Ola Eriksen and Project Manager Kari Steinsbø confirm that the award consists of a cheque for NOK 100,000 (about US$ 10.500) plus a diploma. Reports from former winners indicates that the award has served as a major encouragement to work with innovation and has also been important for marketing of the new product.

Both Norwegian and foreign suppliers of products or services to the fishing and seafood industry and also private persons are invited to submit an application. Your application must have relevance to the fishing industry. There is no requirement that you need to be an exhibitor at Nor-Fishing 2016.

The award is given for a product, a process, or other specific initiative that creates innovation and efficiency improvements. Increased profitability and safety, improved marine environment and improved quality of marine raw materials are also important aspects.

It is possible to nominate others for the award. The nominated person or company will be contacted by us and must, if they want to be an applicant, submit documentation as specified below.

The application must include:

  1. The applicant’s name, address, telephone, e-mail address, web address and contact person.
  2. A brief description of the applicant’s activity/business.
  3. A description, including the best possible documentation of the project, product, process or initiative submitted. In the application one should emphasise exactly what are the innovative features of the project/product/process.
  4. Documentation of the expected effect or result and market for the proposed project, product or process.
Applications shall be submitted either to: mailbox@nor-fishing.no or by mail to:
