Denmarks aquatic mercury problem

In the Danish aquatic environment mercury occurs in such a large scale, it poses a serious risk to the wildlife in a series of lakes and coastal areas. According to a recent study, higher levels of mercury has been found in fish eating animals such as Cormorants, Otters and Harbor seals. This is due to the uptake of mercury from their food items.
