The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council for research projects, has awarded the University of Guelph almost Can$1 million (€750, 000), that will benefit Canada's aquaculture industry. One Guelph project will study ways to combat bacterial cold-water disease. The second strives to improve feeding efficiency of rainbow trout.
“These innovative projects will benefit Canada’s aquaculture sector and the country’s economy and environment,” said Rich Moccia, Guelph’s associate vice-president (research) and head of U of G’s aquaculture research centre. “Aquaculture is the fastest-growing sector in the agri-food industry, creating food, new jobs and economic wealth in many regions around the world.” Read more ...
