Salmon that was brought at a British Columbia supermarket and found to be infected with Infectious salmon anemia (ISA), has not been confirmed by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). After samples were collected from the Supermarket chains (heads only) and some from a B.C river.
Alexandra Morton a well know activist and biologist sent the samples to a private lab in Prince Edward Island run by the World Organisation for Animal Health, for testing and it was found that five fish from the supermarket chain and one from the river tested positive for ISA. These results were then passed onto the CFIA, but the agency claimed that the samples were too degraded to confirm the results of the private labs findings. Read more ...
