20 fish farmers from Mabini town in the Philippines have been trained in tilapia farming skills on Tuesday at the provincial fish hatchery in Barangay Libsong. OIC-Provincial agriculturist Dalisay Moya said "that the aim was to teach and pass on valuable skills and technology to the fish growers to encourage them to improve their aquaculture management system".
Mabini is a non coastal town where agriculture is the major source of livelihood, The municipality is crossed by the Balinkaguing River and could become a good source of tilapia and other freshwater species.
