The fish called Frankenfish that won't go away now faces Congress moves to ban it

The Salmon genetically modified by Aquabounty, to grow faster on less food was modified using genes from other fish species. Over the last few months the FDA has been deciding as to weather this fish is fit for human consumption and it would seem that they were going to approve this creation. Some of the concerns over this fish was that if escaped it would complete with local populations eventually replacing them as the stronger and fitter species.

However Congress has moved to stop the FDA from approving the so called frankenfish for human consumption, if the salmon was to be approved it would be the first time the Government has allowed a Genetically Modified Organism to be marketed for human consumption. Read more ...
