Ocean farming is not a modern innovation, cultures as diverse as the ancient Egyptians, Romans, Aztecs and Chinese have farmed finfish, shellfish, and aquatic plants. For decades environmentalists have fought to save our oceans, from pollution and over fishing. But here is a thought what if we have the question wrong, not how can we save the oceans, but rather how the oceans can save us? The nature of the industry has been moving towards a more sustainable method, and now in the 21 century, aquaculture has moved into a self contained system that is more environmentally friendly.
