Aquaculture expertise in the heart of corn country

In Ontario aquaculture has one of its most sophisticated facilities. North of Guelph, as many as three million fish can be raised there at present the species there are mostly rainbow trout, and some Arctic char and tilapia can be raised and analysed here in an effort to enhance fish-farming practices in the province. “This is the only scientific facility that can take fish to market size,” said Rich Moccia, University of Guelph associate vice-president research (strategic partnerships), and professor of aquatic science in the department of animal and poultry science.
