Aquaculture in Australia challenged over pollution

In South Australia off Eyre Peninsula, the primary industries department has vowed to address the issue of pollution caused by the aquaculture industry in the area. Some residence have complained about debris including rope, plastic and fish feedlots. One landowner collected over 134 kilos of rubbish over a fortnight, Director of Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy, Sean Sloan, says "part of the plan involves improving management practices".
