Farne Salmon and Trout Ltd has reported a
surge in profits for the 2014 year to June as sales rose 14 per cent to UK£73.4
million, The Daily Record reports.

The fish processing company based in Duns,
Scotland, is one of the largest producers of smoked salmon in Europe, has
reported pre-tax profits of UK£2.2 million for the year against UK£130,000
reported for the 2013 year.
The surge in sales and profits came
“despite the continuing difficult economic situation,” the company said.
Sales within the European Union rose 16 per
cent year-on-year to UK£69.8 million (203: UK£60.1 million) though sales to
rest of world were down 15 per cent to UK£3.62 million (2013; UK£4.27 million).
