Industry celebrates at Brussels exposition

Five Welsh seafood companies - Bangor Mussel Producers, The Lobster Pot, Bay Seafoods, Anglesey Aquaculture and Selwyns Seafoods - joined 1600 exhibitors from 140 countries at the Brussels Exhibition and Conference Centre, for the largest seafood trade event in the world - The European Seafood Exposition - which ends today!

They showed off their catch which includes sea bass, scallops, lobster, cockles, mussels, crab and laverbread. Mussel production makes up between 40 - 50 percent of total gross turnover of Welsh fisheries in a UK seafood market worth UK£2.7 billion.
