Where 'green chemistry' meets 'blue biotechnology'

Olmix has become today one of the world’s main specialists in 'green chemistry' and is one of the pioneers of the 'blue biotechnology'.

"I founded Olmix Group in 1995, in France, in the heart of Brittany. My will was to develop natural alternatives to chemical additives used in agriculture," says Hervé Balusson, Olmix Group's CEO.

"Our first know-how was the sourcing of high quality raw materials (trace elements, specific clays, macro-algae). From these raw materials, the group’s Research and Development department has developed a wide range of natural products which can substitute synthesis additives."

Olmix has 12 subsidiaries worldwide, is present in 60 countries and employs 250 people. Its Breton SME reached a turnover of Euros 53 million in 15 years, of which 80% on sales exported. It operates in Asia (Vietnam, China, India, etc) where it achieved 30% growth per year on average. The company is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange and has seven production plants in Europe.
